Audio Visual Technician Job Description: Media Center (MC) facilities are multimedia presentation and collaboration facilities comprised of a variety of meetings tools and technologies for customers to use, that include video teleconferencing (VTC). A MC Audiovisual Technician is a frontline customer service engagement position. The primary function of this position is to provide Media Center audiovisual installation, operation, fault isolation and maintenance technician services and to assist in the facilitation of multimedia and video teleconferencing meetings. This a full time position residing at a customer site. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Provide audiovisual installation, operation, fault isolation and technical support services for the following types of systems: Video teleconferencing systems (e.g. Polycom, Cisco, Vidyo, MS Teams, etc.) Video systems, switchers, distribution amplifiers and similar technologies Audio systems and sub systems (e.g. Biamp, Clearone, Extron, etc.) Video wall systems (e.g. Planar, Sharp, etc.) Standalone display and projection systems Control systems (e.g. AMX, Extron, Crestron, etc.) Digital signage Ensure site user documentation is current and complete Staff and operate facility equipment during meetings as required Shut down, clean and secure facilities at the end of the day Perform other duties as required Skill Set(s): Install audiovisual cabling and wall plates in ceilings, floors and walls Install audiovisual wall, poll, recessed and similar mount systems Must be able to: lift in excess of 40 pounds climb and work on a ladder and or scaffolding work in high places and cramped places stand, kneel and or crouch Capable of learning how to operate all the equipment at each site Ability to liaise as a member of a very dynamic team Provide after-hours and an occasional weekend support services Possess one to three years of audiovisual experience Additional Requirements: Operational knowledge of complex audiovisual systems and video teleconferencing systems desired Audiovisual degree, product, system and or personal industry certifications preferred Position requires U.S. Citizenship and an active U.S. government security clearance or the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance Please note this is a AV technician position, requiring knowledge of and experience with the above systems. This is not a graphic or web design position.
