The Humanities Department seeks to hire adjunct faculty to teach Communication (COMM) 101 – Public Speaking. This 3-credit-hour course focuses on strategies for public speaking, public presentations, and conducting meetings. For course management, knowledge of and prior experience with the Blackboard Learning Management system is required.Years of Experience Required: Prior post-secondary teaching experience (at least one year strongly preferred).Required Education: Masters Degree.Certification/Licensure Required: Minimum Qualifications: Demonstration of professional and educational work and experience related to the field.Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree in a media/communications or related field is preferred, along with at least five years of professional experience in a related field. Demonstration of professional work such as a portfolio.Working Conditions: Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).
