Summary:

The Manager, Regional Marketing & Community Outreach leads the team of regional marketing specialists as the connection points between DTLR and Brand teams and the consumer experience in key locations throughout the United States. The Manager, Regional Marketing & Community Outreach will champion DTLR brand experiences and support regional specialists in amplifying those experiences as well as localizing by key markets and regions. This individual should effectively exhibit DTLRs core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead team in-season on planning and execution of regional strategy.
  • Lead of regional marketing program processes across all marketing functions.
  • Strategically prioritize local market initiatives.
  • Communicate with operations leadership on local market activities.
  • Purposefully plan and execute key market travel plans with regional team and local partners (Ops, Visual), ensuring strong post-visit documentation of market findings and competitor insights.
  • Reviews and approves budgets for local market activity.
  • Write and present briefs to regional marketing specialist teams in partnership with loyalty program and brand managers.
  • Partners with Retail Marketing Manager on pinnacle marketing programming and experience planning for flagship retail locations.
  • Partner with leaders across departments to ensure consistent and effective communication and operations with other regionally focused teams.
  • Partner with other leaders within the marketing organization to evolve and extend the organization’s ability to execute the localization strategy.
  • Evaluate market-level opportunities for partnerships, media, events.
  • Identify trends across marketing opportunities to affect efficiencies and processes across various team members.
  • Builds relationships with director-level marketing and sales representatives from key properties and effectively negotiates stronger and more integrated marketing opportunities across properties.
  • Obsesses the details of the retail experience in the store environment through the lens of exceeding the consumer’s expectations of athletic specialty retail.
  • Plays a key role on the in-store innovation team by representing the voice of the consumer and the opportunities to engage and connect through digital integration into the store environment.
  • Attends in-market brand partner product knowledge education sessions and cultural events as needed.
  • Responsible for building relationships with community organizations such as schools and other nonprofit organizations in the regions in which the company operates.
  • Develop new outreach programs in line with the department mission and company goals.
  • Developing partnerships and maintaining relationships within the DTLR scope and mission
  • Planning, logistics, and execution of the National programs/activations that we will launch companywide; they will identify those organizations, programs and movements which are dedicated to one or more of our focus pillars on a daily basis.
  • Attend and speak at various public events and outreach engagements.
  • Evaluate outreach opportunities for feasibility and alignment with company goals.
  • Coordination and follow-up of company resources at dedicated, company sponsored events.
  • Develop events/activations that can rebuild, uplift, and educate our stores immediate communities.
  • Using resources, relationships, [brand] partners, and allocated budgets to create activations within/on premises of selected stores per specified regions.
  • Must be willing to work in and around various communities.
  • Building moral and ensuring the DTLR mission is identified
  • Assist with organization and administrative paperwork for all Corporate and Community Outreach programs.
  • Assist with the execution and implementation of all Community Outreach programs
  • Assist in conceptualizing, design and execution of new Community Outreach initiatives
  • Attend monthly store management meetings facilitated by District Managers
  • Maintain proper use and maintenance of regional company vehicle
  • Follow-up on leads to perspective projects.
  • Additional duties and projects as required.


Required Education and/or Experience:

  • 3-4 years of marketing, digital and/or retail experience required.
  • Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
  • Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Google Cloud platform, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Pay range: $65k - $80k (Depending on Experience); This role will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401k, sick leave, and company paid time off plan.
