Job Summary: The Production Design Technician uses sales art drawings to create production level drawings for release to the production floor.
Essential Functions:
- Uses industry standard software to create production drawings based on customer’s specifications and established program standards
- Analyzes job orders, sales art drawings and architectural drawings
- Ensure all work consistently meets established brand standards and guidelines prior to disbursement to production facilities
- Ensure visual elements and illustrations adhere to Production Design Quality Assurance requirements
- Design drawings as requested for various job orders
- Follow the rules and regulations related to the safety of all employees working for the Company
- Adherence to all mandated safety procedures including: driving policy, production area safety requirements and fire safety
- Safety requires all employees to review materials provided by the Company related to any updates on safety procedures
- Informs management of any safety related issues
- Ensures safety of self and others through proper use and care of equipment/work area
- Handles and operates all equipment in a careful and safe manner
- Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and stores them properly
- Keeps all work areas neat and clear of potential hazards
- Other duties as assigned

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to perform the following activities:
- Standing.
- Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
- Sitting. Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time
- Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers
- Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
- Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound
- Visual Acuity. To perform close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and visual inspection
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with overtime as required.
Travel: This position requires up to 10% travel.
Educational Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or GED.
- Associate degree from an accredited university or college.
Preferred Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience with industry standard CAD/CAM applications
- Proficient in using Sketch-Up and Corel Draw
- Macola EM 10 preferred.
- Proficient with common PC based software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience in signage design
- Understanding of business processes is essential.
- Aptitude in problem-solving.
