Job Summary:

The 3D Design Coordinator performs a variety of design and detailing activities and helps to shape the organization using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Trimble Connect and other design technology. This position is responsible for coordinating external design resources and developing internal 3D implementation processes. Tuttle/Dant Clayton is seeking a candidate who can bring innovative ideas and wants to work and grow within the railing industry. This role supports sales, estimating, project management, shop fabrication, and field support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate outsourced design resources in a team setting.
  • Check submittal drawings & shop packages.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings with outside design resources.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of designs and documentation.
  • Coordinate with management on 3D design projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
  • Support the implementation of best practices and innovative approaches for 3D design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate 3D designs into overall project plans.
  • Must have exceptional ability to produce quality work.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of Tuttle/Dant Clayton products and their applicability to project requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of current practices of AutoCAD, Inventor Pro and Vault.
  • Proficient in the use of business software, such as, Microsoft Word and Excel

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or other related discipline.
  • A general understanding of construction practices, principles, methods, and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment accomplishing tasks with limited resources or oversight and at a rapid pace.
  • Established ability to communicate ideas, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of steel structures drafting process, and the ability to convey this information to others.
  • 5-10 yrs. experience using Autodesk software to produce shop and erection drawings for a steel manufacturer.
  • 1-3 yrs. experience in 3D modeling software Inventor or other.
  • Experience in railing layout and code knowledge is a plus.
  • History of coordinating with other trades on projects
  • Exhibits “self-starter” characteristics coupled with a track record of completing scheduled project deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Able to properly assess and then take appropriate action to identify and solve problems during design or in the field during construction.
  • Exhibits a high sense of personal motivation and urgency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills
  • Detail oriented problem solver

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
