Job Description
BP3 seeks a UX Designer to design enterprise business software applications that meet business owners’ and end-users’ needs.
In this role, you will be working with a team of UX designers at one of BP3's clients. You should be an analytical and creative UX design leader who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems quickly based on concentrated information received in short durations such as 5-day Design Sprints or 2-day Innovation Sprints. You should possess the ability to gather and comprehend business requirements as well as technical limitations. You can effectively take data from user research and translate it into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.
A deep understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies, enterprise software, and working with complex experiences is a requirement. Success in the role requires an innovative mind, good leadership skills, and a passion for creating exceptional user experience. Individuals in this role must be user-focused, analytical, highly creative, with strong verbal and written communication skills. A strong portfolio of successful UX Design projects is essential.
Being based in Austin, TX is a plus, but you are able to work remotely. Occasional travel to customers' sites may be required.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to establish value, understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision. Our clients expect a “world-class user experience.”
- Facilitate Goals Workshops and other UX style activities with clients to gather requirements, create alignment, and generate buy-in.
- Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to customer vision and priorities.
- Advocate for integrated UX process, strategy and UX testing with clients throughout the product life cycle.
- Work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications, and articulating design decisions back to client and team.
- Serve as a customer advocate to ensure the highest level of usefulness, usability and customer satisfaction.
- Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- Work closely with development and business teams, converting skeptics into UX advocates.
- Authoritatively and intelligently iterate on designs, adjusting to technical requirements and incorporating usability improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.
- 5 or more years of UX Design experience, including interaction design and information architecture work.
- Consulting experience.
- Experience designing complex applications for enterprise users.
- Strong portfolio of completed design projects.
- Experience working closely with Product Management/Product Owners to deliver valuable and usable applications.
- Expertise in Figma or other standard UX software such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD and the like is a must.
- Experience creating or applying visual design and familiarity with tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Basic HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and systems architecture skills are a plus.
- Experience in applying UX design best practices.
- Experience working on Agile teams and the ability to evangelize Agile UX to team members.
- Experience with design systems.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as handling multiple projects at the same time.
