Job Description
Akin Building Centers is currently seeking a talented and creative Designer to join our team in Atlantic, Iowa. As a Designer, you will collaborate with customers and provide exceptional design solutions for their building projects. An Akin Designer is responsible for designing and creating unique, high-quality kitchen, bathroom, and other interior spaces according to client preferences and needs. The job includes working with clients and contractors to understand their design preferences, creating detailed plans and drawings, selecting materials and finishes, and overseeing the project from start to finish.
The ideal candidate for this position should be self-motivated, able to multi-task and have excellent communication skills. While knowledge of 20/20 Design software is helpful, it is not required.

Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with customers to understand their design requirements and develop innovative solutions that suit their specific needs.
Create detailed design plans, including 2D and 3D drawings, using state-of-the-art design software.
Assist customers in selecting appropriate building materials, fixtures, and finishes to ensure their design vision is successfully executed.
Collaborate with the sales team to provide accurate estimates and quotes for design services.
Stay updated on the latest design trends, building codes, and regulations to offer the most cutting-edge and code-compliant designs.
Ensure all design projects are completed within established timelines.
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring each project receives the necessary attention and meets customer expectations.
Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing any customer concerns or inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other professionals involved in the project to ensure smooth execution and successful project completion.
Maintain accurate documentation of all design projects, including plans, specifications, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a designer in a professional setting.
Proficiency in design software such as 20/20 CAD, or similar.
Strong understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and industry standards.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong customer service orientation and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
A bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or a related field is preferred.
