Swoon is actively seeking a
Technical Designer
to join the team of our client!You'll be an integral part of the team - supporting all product categories, with a focus on intimates and apparel.
What will your day-to-day look like?Lead garment fittings and generate detailed fit comments, working closely with design partners to ensure precise fit specifications.Independently manage projects from development to final fit, ensuring adherence to calendar deadlines, with the goal of completing the 2025 rollout before the spring season.Collaborate with vendors and factories to communicate fit adjustments, obtain approvals, and ensure prototypes meet design and quality standards.Analyze and evaluate garments to develop accurate technical specifications, aligning with established standards, manufacturing capabilities, and cost constraints.Adjust fit specifications and patterns as needed, providing clear, written feedback on fit comments for production teams.Maintain quality control over prototypes by overseeing factory adjustments, supporting cost objectives, and preserving design integrity.Direct and guide Assistant or Associate Technical Designers as necessary.

What's required?Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or related field, or equivalent experience.Junior Level: 2-5 years of technical design experience in intimates and/or apparel.Senior Level: 6+ years of technical design experience in intimates and/or apparel.Strong proficiency in technical design software (Centric, Excel, Illustrator, Flex PLM).Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently, with a strong capacity for self-management and meeting tight deadlines.Excellent communication skills with the ability to clarify questions to prevent confusion.Experience with fit sessions, fit comment creation, and pattern correction.
