TAVO Pets is looking for a Senior Video Editor with an artful eye and strong storytelling abilities; highly skilled in creating successful video content for premium products and brands.
Comfortable working as part of a creative team or independently, you will be experienced with taking projects from initial brief through to completion, while providing fresh ideas and creativity.
You will passionately have your finger on the pulse of what’s trending in the digital space, across platforms, and devices and respond to changes in the landscape by proposing fresh ideas and creative solutions, while always keeping the overall visual message captivating to our audience.
From traditional video editing to digital video edits for omni-channel campaigns, you must see the gold in a story and be able to conceive, craft, and execute dynamic video edits that stretch our content and engage our pet loving audience.
You will work effectively on a global team, in global time zones, with multiple internal and external clients across all regions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Editing
- Consistently turn around creative edits with a strong emphasis on storytelling and a passion for visual excellence.
- See the bigger picture across footage, crafting sequences to deliver best in class video content.
- Deliver a wide range of video content from commercials, interviews, testimonials, technical content, training and tutorials to trade shows and event recaps, short form social videos, gifs, and various multimedia.
- Ability to curate and select music to match the tone and style of the story.
- Edit compelling videos to support product launches, marketing campaigns and events from concept to delivery.
- Ingest, transcode, log, tag and share string outs with various departments.
- Version videos at various aspect ratios for all platforms and devices.
Collaboration & Project Management
- Manage multiple projects, schedules and deadlines in a fast-paced corporate studio environment.
- Apply corporate organizational understanding and business knowledge to establish and foster relationships with key stakeholders and vendors both internally and externally.
- Ensure individual projects match consistent quality and understanding of what engaging content across all platforms.
- Source licensed music and stock media in accordance and collaboration with our creative team to further develop our in-house style.
- Follow and continue to develop comprehensive standards and processes for highest quality post-production processes across the team.
- Actively participate with teams to plan productions for marketing purposes.
- Engage with team to help develop and contribute ideas during content and social brainstorm sessions.
- Work closely with the team to brainstorm and script digital media ads and tutorials.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently between stakeholders in a larger creative process.
- Collaborate with Motion Graphics editors and designers to develop and enhance visual storytelling.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to shape their message to reach the right audience.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Knowledge, Technology & Education
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of video editing experience.
- BFA, BS, BA in Media, Communications, and Film/Video or equivalent work experience required.
- Motion graphics experience a plus as is animation.
- Portfolio demonstrating a strong eye for innovation, respect for brand standards both following and creating them; showcase of your video editing prowess and love of experimentation and a command of available technology.
Experience in other areas of video production including but not limited to:
- filming and studio work a plus.
- working with a multi-brand, multi-national organization strongly preferred.
- working in e-commerce.
Skills & Competencies
- Skilled with codecs, image types, resolutions, frame rates as they pertain to digital media.
- Excellent command of digital trends, cinematography, and editing principles.
- Proficient in color correction, sound mixing and editing, packaging final deliverables, graphic and text overlays, motion tracking, blurring, screen replacements and object removal.
- Demonstrates a wide range of editorial techniques and styles to build any kind of story, and strong editorial decision-making ability to cut quickly when working with creatives and producers in real time.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Technical and creative understanding of audio mastering and color grading with an eye for precision.
- Strong asset organizational skills and project tidiness to ensure seamless project handovers between team members.
- Self-starter who assumes personal ownership and accountability with willingness to go the extra mile and explore unfamiliar or non-traditional sources for solutions to problems.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills to effectively manage numerous brand activities and resources simultaneously, while ensuring deadlines are met.
Technology:
- Expert skill level in Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere, Audition and After Effects and up to date with the latest tools and time saving features e.g. Essential Graphics and various plugins.
- Up to date on the latest standards and applications of post-production systems.
- Comfortable navigating project management software; Wrike preferred.
Other
- The ability to work extended hours as business needs warrant, may include nights and weekends.
- Travel: Domestic & International Travel 10% as business needs warrant
