JOB DUTIES
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Integrated Marketing & Communications Manager, the Integrated Marketing Specialist is an integral part of the team working to promote City of Farmington programs, events, and initiatives; maintain transparency, educate the community on a variety of government issues, and keep the public informed of important information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
This position is heavily focused on digital media management. Primary responsibilities include creating and curating content for the City's various social media platforms, developing and maintaining editorial and/or content calendars, creating visually compelling graphics, copywriting, and assisting in developing and implementing marketing campaigns to promote City events, programs, and initiatives.
This position may also assist in drafting draft press releases, fielding media inquiries, taking pictures and videos, covering on-call Public Information Officer (PIO) duties as needed, and other public relations and marketing duties as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. Maintains records, files, documents and archives. May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing, and follow-up testing.
This position is subject to the City of Farmington's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy which includes: pre employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other City personnel and the public.
Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, marketing, social media management or a related field preferred and two years of related experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects.
Strong written communication skills.
Adept at creating content and writing copy for a variety of platforms.
Have an understanding of social media and website analytics.
Familiar with AP writing style.
Proficient in Google, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize and pivot as needed.
Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.
Comfortable working in a team environment and independently
Basic photography/video skills.
Extensive background checks required.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Calculator, phone, radio, fax and copy machine, computer (desktop and laptop) motor vehicles.
