64,668.00/year This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

The City of Chicago is seeking a Graphic Artist III to perform complex and creative art and graphic design functions for major publications and exhibitions for city departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Conceptualizes thematic designs for print materials (e.g., logos, brochures, mounted displays, banners, web graphics) Designs complex artwork using professional computer graphic programs (e.g., Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop) or traditional art production methods Monitors the printing of publications to ensure specification standards are met Designs and completes artwork and text for major exhibitions Coordinates the preparation of different elements of displays to ensure design specifications and established deadlines are met Meets with clients to obtain final approval of completed artwork Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of related equipment and materials Participates in ordering and maintaining graphic arts supplies Participates in training staff in the use of basic design and exhibit installation tools, as required Prepares and provides artwork or photography for City presentations as required Prepares presentations books or binders as needed Edits and maintains video content for CDA Assists as needed with special events, spreadsheets, invitations, guest lists, etc. Performs other related duties as required.

Three years of commercial art work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
