We are seeking a talented and innovative Realtime FX artist to join our game cinematics team. Description:
- Produce photorealistic rendered and real-time FX elements using Unreal Engine, Niagara, and Houdini.
- Work closely with the CG Supervisor, Art Director, and other artists to enhance gameplay and cinematics.
- Ensure FX content is performant, within budget, and aligned with project goals.
- Prototype FX and materials to support gameplay tone, pacing, and visual storytelling.
- Work with leads and production to estimate and plan FX tasks, break down deliverables, and provide progress updates.
- Research and document new workflows, contributing to process improvements.
- Be a proactive self-starter, independently executing high-level direction and solving technical challenges.
- Inspire and mentor others by demonstrating initiative, accountability, and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in FX for games.
- Minimum of 1 shipped title with an established game studio
- Strong portfolio showcasing realistic, real-time FX, such as destruction, fire, smoke, and various particle effects.
- Proficient in Unreal Engine 5, including Niagara, Houdini, Maya, and optimization techniques.
- Knowledgeable of game engine budgets, memory limits, and performance constraints.
Salary: $70,000 - $115,000 / year. Onsite. Full time. Range depends on experience, education, and qualifications.
