The Technical Designer will lead in developing specs and fits for all of the brands in our growing portfolio across products such as legwear and seamless daywear such as tops, bottoms, bodysuits, etc. This person will uphold production ready garments and ensure all deadlines are met accordingly. They will also interface with cross functional teams such as Design, Product Development, Production, and Quality Assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Design Operations Manager and design teams during development to create spec sheets for proto and fit samples
- Work cross-functionally between Design, Product Development, Production, and Quality Assurance
- Create and track new fit and construction specs
- Work with design to ensure proper execution of spec usage
- Fit protos, fit Samples, PPs and TOPS while taking detailed notes
- Communicate with overseas vendors to ensure quality and fit of product when challenges arise
- Manage spec and block library on server and in PLM
- Accurately measure and examine Proto, Fit Samples on body, PP, TOP samples from factories and prepare for scheduled fittings
- Create grades for all styles across multiple size ranges and categories
- Conduct and lead all in person fitting and instructs all fit corrections to vendor/factory; ensuring all previous corrections and requests are upheld by vendors
- Collaborate with associates to organize fit photos and comments
- Input measurements and comment callouts in PLM
- Send accurate fit comments to overseas factories
- Identify construction and workmanship issues to ensure consistent standards are met within each product category
- Participate in weekly meeting led by Product Development with overseas through fit and construction related callouts/issues
- Utilize knowledge of fit and knitwear machinery for correct / improved fit
- Organize and advise fit comments on all wear test sample projects; record and share all wear test feedback results with team
- Collaborate and communicate with cross functional teams for entire product lifecycle
Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of related experience
- Knowledge of seamless knit, daywear, hosiery, leggings and/or socks constructions
- Knowledge of Seamless constructions and Knitwear Machinery
- Knowledge of PLM (Centric or similar)
- Experience in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel
- Clear understanding of fit and grading
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting established deadlines
- Ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize
Annual salary range starting at $80,000
