Iconic Footwear is a leading wholesale fashion footwear company based in New York, NY. We specialize in offering the latest trends in sneakers, sandals, wedges, boots, comforts, and slippers for juniors, misses, kids, and men.

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Designer to join our team at Iconic Footwear. Specializing in footwear and hosiery for off-price retailers, we design products that combine style, comfort, and value. The Assistant Designer will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of footwear and hosiery, creating sketches and technical drawings, collaborating with the design team, and researching market trends.

Role Description

In this role, you will work closely with the Design Director to create CADs and design renderings, while also assisting with sample management, showroom preparation, and other essential tasks. This position is ideal for someone who is creative, organized, and skilled with design and office tools.

Responsibilities:

• Create CADs and design renderings for footwear and hosiery based on the Design Director’s direction.
• Open boxes from factories to inspect samples and ensure they meet quality standards.
• Organize and layout samples in the showroom for customer presentations.
• Prepare and ship samples to customers as needed.
• Support various design and product development tasks as required.
• Maintain organized records of designs, samples, and customer feedback.
• Utilize Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other tools to enhance designs and presentations.
• Use Excel, PowerPoint, and other office tools to assist with documentation and reports.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of design assistant experience in the footwear and hosiery industry
• Degree in Fashion Design, Footwear Design, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and creativity
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in sketching and creating technical drawings
• Experience in footwear design, specifically in footwear and hosiery
• Knowledge of market trends in footwear and fashion
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint, and similar tools.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• A hands-on attitude with the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks.
• Passion for designing high-quality, affordable footwear and hosiery.
