Licensing Manager – Fashion Industry
Job Summary:
The Licensing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing licensing strategies that align with our brand goals. This role involves identifying potential licensing opportunities, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with licensors to ensure brand integrity and maximize revenue.
Role and Responsibilities:
Licensing Strategy Development:
Identify target customer and product categories for potential licensing opportunities, such as legwear, handbags, accessories, footwear etc.Conduct thorough market analysis to assess competitor licensing activities and identify emerging trends within the fashion industry.Evaluate potential brands based on market reach, and company fit.Possibility of attending licensor summits and trade shows.
Negotiation and Contract Compliance:
Help negotiate with potential licensors, focusing on key factors such as royalty rates, minimum guarantees, and other performance metrics.Help draft and review licensors agreements and term agreements.Periodically monitor compliance with contract terms, including sales projections, distributions etc.Monitor all brand renewals.
Partnership Management:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential licensors.Maintain relationships with licensing partners, serving as the primary contact for all licensing related inquiries.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Monitor sales performance of licensed products, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.Analyze market feedback and sales data to make informed recommendations for improving licensing strategies.Manage any disputes or issues that arise with licensors, collaborating with legal counsel as necessary.Collaborate with Controller to ensure timely processing of royalty payments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.3+ years of experience in licensing, brand management, or a similar role within the fashion industry.Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of successful licensing agreements.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Familiarity with legal aspects of licensing agreements.Passion for fashion and a keen understanding of industry trends.

NY Pay Transparency:The pay range for this position is ($80,000 - $100,000) annually based on skills and experience.
