Insight Global is looking for a CSD Designer to sit in Charlotte, NC with a utilities engineering firm. This person will be responsible with coordinating/communicating with account managers for information regarding underground utility design work for Duke Energy.
Job Responsibilities: Designer Coordinates with Residential Project Account Managers, in which the RPAM gets information from Developers such as neighborhood layouts and load information. With this information Designers: Determine Primary Cable Routing Determine UG Transformer Locations Determine UG Transformer Sizing by using tx load calculators Determine UG Secondary cable routing from transformer to meter delivery points Determine UG Secondary Cable sizing by using SEDS (secondary service calculators) Determine roadway crossing locations for Primary’s and Secondary’s and provide conduit layouts Receive and Clean up CAD Files to be used for land base mapping and construction prints Order appropriate cable, and equipment for construction crews Designers deliver the design back to the RPAM Group; in which the RPAM continues coordination with developers and see’s the project through to construction completion. Must-haves: 2+ years in an underground designer position in the power industry 2+ years experience with designing within the power industry preferably with residential underground utilities Degree not required but preferred
