We’re looking to hire an Editorial Specialist for a Financial client. This is a 6 month contract opportunity. The role is located in Downtown Los Angeles and hybrid 3 days onsite weekly. Onward Search is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All contractors will be paid as W2 employees. The Editorial Specialist plays a critical role within the marketing team, ensuring the delivery of top-quality marketing materials. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams to manage projects and meet deadlines efficiently. Key Responsibilities Content Review & Editing : Copyedit and proofread print and digital marketing materials for clarity, grammar, accuracy, style, and tone. Ensure compliance with disclosure requirements and verify facts and statistics against internal and external sources. Tailor edits to align with the target audience and adhere to style guides. Content Updates : Identify and implement updates to content requiring periodic revisions, including statistical data and disclosures. Utilize tools to ensure updates are accurately reflected across web/digital platforms. Adapt content to meet size constraints as needed, ensuring all materials are error-free. Compliance Monitoring : Track and apply compliance language updates to meet legal and regulatory standards. Assess and address the impact of changes to existing materials, ensuring accurate implementation of required disclosure language. Style Consistency : Stay up-to-date on style guide updates and apply them to maintain a consistent tone and style across communications. Research & Data Assistance : Support writers by gathering data from various systems to update statistical content. Organize and compile approved backup materials for fact-checking and record keeping. Content Development & Liaison : Provide research support for original content, assist in story development, and rewrite materials for specific audiences or channels (e.g., email, social media). Act as a liaison with external agencies, ensuring materials meet review standards and progress through the approval process. Skills & Qualifications Strong editorial skills, with in-depth knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and style guides. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with MS Excel for data input, sorting, and basic chart manipulation (preferred). Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams with strong interpersonal skills. Proven problem-solving abilities and capacity to follow production schedules and track deliverables. 1–3 years of editorial experience in a professional setting.
