What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a creative and motivated Product Design Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Product Design Specialist, you will work closely with the senior designer and cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative products that meet user needs and align with our brand vision. The ideal candidate will have had experience with end-to-end design and understand the full design lifecycle including how to navigate across multiple touchpoints and understands the journey mapping process. This role will support project initiatives by having a strong documentation process for all steps of the UX design life cycle and be able to collaborate with business, product development, and testing teams. Candidates should be comfortable presenting prototypes to tell the design story and communicating with stakeholders. This role reports to the Director, Digital Product Management and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

What You Will Do:

· Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and software engineers, and define the problem statement

· Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, sitemaps and other UX artifacts

· Conduct primary research sessions and interviews to supplement the direction of the UX solution.

· Collect secondary research data to supplement the direction of the UX solution

· Create lofi and hifi wireframes to help vision the flow and interaction overview of the solution

· Create detailed clickable and functional design prototypes to simulate the final product and its functionalities

· Present the increments of the design process and artifacts to stakeholders and clients

· Provide solutions and conduct brainstorming sessions to break down complex and ambiguous problem statements.

· Advocate research findings to teams and stakeholders through written and oral presentations.

· Ask questions, gather data, and analyze data.

· Experienced with a diverse set of design and wireframing tools including Sketch, Figma, Miro and Pendo.

· Work closely with developers to ensure design specifications are implemented accurately and efficiently.

What We Require:

· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design (or related degree) and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

· Experience with Figma, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite

· Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough user research, usability studies, and interpret data to inform design decisions and enhance user experiences.

· Advanced with design thinking, working in a design system, and design problem solving

· Experience with web and mobile application design

· Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders, present phases of design life cycle and design ideas/solutions

· Portfolio that shows recent design work and full design process

· Out of box creative thinking, eye for detail and adaptability to new design technologies.

· Capable of working independently but willing to seek assistance when necessary.

· Required to be onsite 3 days a week at the Durham, NC office
