We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a CAD Designer / Technician in SHELBYVILLE, Kentucky, United States. The primary function of this role is to produce and modify part drawings for manufacturing operations using various CAD software. You will be an integral part of our team, actively participating in problem-solving within a self-governed team environment.


This role is Contract, FT, onsite in Shelbyville, KY. The primary schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, or similar hours.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop controlled part drawings for the manufacturing facility as a CAD or engineering technician.
  • Create and update drawings within document management systems using various CAD software.
  • Exhibit proactive problem-solving skills, working independently in a self-managed team environment.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and hardware to produce controlled part drawings.
  • Generate detailed layouts of parts, components, assemblies, and functional units.
  • Work from functional or conceptual sketches, verbal descriptions, and specifications.
  • Make changes to drawings and maintain proper documentation.
  • Create detailed models and drawings of parts and assemblies from sketches, existing drawings, or parts.
  • Review customer drawings and compare them with RFC drawings for accuracy.
  • Print and distribute drawings as required.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and shop personnel as needed.
  • Follow all verbal and written job instructions.
  • Adhere to assigned schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and a clean work area.
  • Handle customer file storage and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Make recommendations for and implement improvements to RFC prints and drawing procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting Design or similar or HS Diploma with at least one-year hands-on related experience
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with the following:
  • AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD Software
  • Microsoft Office Products
  • Document Processing Software such as Meridian or similar or ability to learn software
  • US Person as defined by EAR/ITAR
