Job Description
We're seeking a CAD or engineering technician to develop controlled part drawings for our manufacturing facility. This person will work within our document management systems to create and update drawings using various CAD software. Strong candidates will be proactive problem-solvers who will work independently within a self-managed team environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Utilize Computer Aided Design software/hardware to develop controlled part drawings. Originate detail layouts of parts, components, assemblies and functional units. Operate form functional or conceptual sketches or verbal descriptions and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
- Makes drawing changes and documents.
- Creates detailed models & drawings of parts and assemblies from sketches, drawings and parts.
- Checks customer drawings and compares with RFC drawings.
- Prints copies and distributes drawings as needed.
- Interfaces with supervisor and other Engineering and shop personnel.
- Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to any job which he/she may be assigned.
- Works to a schedule.
- Works safely.
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Handle all customer file storage.
- Make recommendations and implements improvements to RFC prints / drawing procedures.
Schedule: This non-exempt position will primarily work five days per week, eight hours per day. Primary schedule will be 8am-5:00pm Monday to Friday or similar.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Drafting Design or similar or HS Diploma with at least one-year hands-on related experience
- Experience: Hands-on experience with the following:
- AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD Software
- Microsoft Office Products
- Document Processing Software such as Meridian or similar or ability to learn software.
- US Person as defined by EAR/ITAR
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technology degree.
- Application experience with the following: Inventor 3D modeling, Finite Element Analysis, Motion Simulation, roll forming systems design and installation.
- Metals, Metal forming, Manufacturing experience.
- Experience with Quality Systems.
