Job Description
The Communications Team is seeking a Digital Designer III who excels in written communication and possesses a strong understanding of design principles. In this role, you will be responsible for creatively conveying the activities of the church through both visual and written mediums. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design and the ability to produce engaging content that resonates with our diverse First Church audience. Given the fluid nature of our environment and the time-sensitive nature of our projects, the ideal candidate must be adept at prioritizing assignments, multitasking, working with minimal supervision, and collaborate with the team.
Position Details:
· Year-round, full-time position, exempt
· Monday-Friday: Avg. 40-45 hours per week (sometimes more during peak season)
· Starting Salary: $45,000+ (adjusted based on experience)
· Non-profit organization located in Bonita Springs

Desired Skills:
· Ability to create visually appealing and effective designs across various formats
· Previous experience in a digital content design role within Marketing or Communications
· Familiarity with project management software (Monday, Basecamp, Asana, etc.)
· College degree in related field (Communications, Graphic Design, etc.) or 2-4 years of comparable work experience
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop visually engaging PowerPoint slides for the electronic bulletin board (EBB), ensuring that content is clear, relevant, and aligned with the church’s messaging
· Maintain and update a variety of EBB presentations for the purposes of Sunday worship services, weekly promotional purposes, and cross-promotion during special events
· Design and create ministry specific slides and templates for cross promotional purposes or special events
· Update Mission Wall slides on a weekly basis and continuously audit throughout the year
· Actively seek and incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders on design projects to enhance the effectiveness and appeal of all materials
· Assist in the production of worship slides, ensuring that all visual elements are synchronized with service elements and enhance the worship experience
· Collaborate with the pastoral team to create slides for worship services, providing visual support that complement the message and engage the congregation
· Incorporate feedback as designated by the team and ministry leaders to further refine design elements and communicate theological concepts effectively
· Create lower-third graphics for the purposes of weekly livestream
· Design eye-catching graphics for app usage such as banners, thumbnails, etc.
· Work with various departments to gather content and ensure that all multimedia materials effectively communicate the church's activities and that events stay on-brand
· Manage timelines and workflows for multiple design projects, ensuring all materials are completed on time and to a high standard
· Uphold and reinforce the church’s branding guidelines across all design projects to maintain a cohesive visual identity both internally and externally
· Stay updated on best practices in design and communication seeking to continuously learn and improve
· Collaborate closely with the Communications Team and other church staff to ensure alignment and coordination across all projects
· Schedule meetings with appropriate persons regarding special projects or regular occurrences
· Provide assistance wherever necessary to ensure deadlines are met for Communications projects and worship services
· Other duties as assigned
