Based in Everett, Modern Metals specializes in designing, fabricating, and installing architectural and light structural metal products for commercial, mixed-use, and multi-unit residential projects.
Job Summary
Modern Metals is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This individual will need to analyze architectural and structural drawings. From those drawings they will need to be able to create detailed shop drawings for manufacturing and installation of metal products. The Designer II position works towards one objective: to produce clear, effective, models and drawings for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to accurately interpret data, dimensions, building codes and specifications to apply to models.
- Ensure manufacturability and installation feasibility in the design.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity and excellence in all drawings.
- Ability to collaborate and help team members as needed
- Meet scheduled deadlines
- Seek to improve, learn, and grow with the team.
Key Requirements
- Has 2-4 years’ experience using Solidworks in a professional environment or relevant related experience
- Proficient creating Parts, Assemblies, and Drawings
- Has some architectural and structural drawing knowledge
- Good working knowledge of windows computers and file organization
- Good communication skills
- Eager to learn and quick to ask questions
- Self-directed and able to complete work with limited supervision
- A hardworking, trustworthy, and humble team-player
- Able to work in a shared office environment that can be noisy at times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour DOE

Schedule:
- 40 Hour Work Weeks
- 10-hour shifts Monday - Thursday
- Day shift starting at 6am
- Occasional OT required on Fridays
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Everett, WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in a CAD program or a certificate in area of specialty (Preferred)
Experience:
- Other CAD Software: 2-4 years (Required)
- SOLIDWORKS: 2-4 years (Preferred)
- Building Construction: (Plus)
- Metal Fabrication/Welding: (Plus)
Language:
- English (Required)
