Job Description
SUMMARY:
Drafts detailed construction drawings, design drawings, and other CAD/BIM (Revit) or manually generated drawings used in planning and construction of architectural projects by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other documents received from their supervisor
- Plots maps, drawings, and charts showing the necessary elements of the construction documents for the construction of buildings
- Drafts detailed drawings of structures buildings, and other facilities related to the building industry and are normally accepted as elements contained in construction documents and other design documentation
- Ability to coordinate with the various consultants involved in the documentation process
- Ability to operate both CAD and BIM (Revit) programs, as well as other graphic programs (Photoshop, SketchUp, etc.)
- Is a trainer and mentor to other CAD technical staff
- Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a high school/GED diploma, associate’s degree in technical drafting, and 3 years experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read in the English language and comprehend technical instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write coherent correspondence in the English language. Ability to effectively, verbally present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
