Description

Position Purpose:

As a Story Editor II, expand GTN's reach with exceptional narrative and documentary content that captures the essence of our faith-based mission - reaching far and deep with the true Gospel. You will independently be creating engaging, narrative-driven content that resonates with our audience. This role involves a blend of short-form and long-form cinematic video production, including narrative films, short films, trailers, teasers, music videos, and documentary-style storytelling. You will not only create impactful stories but also guide and foster the development of emerging talent within the organization.

Essential Duties:
  • Advanced Content Creation: Conceptualize and edit a diverse range of video content including narrative films, documentaries, trailers, teasers, music videos, personal stories, and testimonial videos that highlight individual experiences and spiritual journeys, both long and short form. Independently manage the editing of complex video projects, ensuring narrative coherence and emotional resonance.
  • Strategic Branded Content: Take initiative in creating branded content that deepens viewer engagement and broadens our outreach. Create video content that may include behind-the-scenes footage and other materials designed to strengthen relationships with our audience. Ensure each piece supports GTN's brand identity and mission.
  • Graphic Design: Lead graphic design efforts, setting benchmarks for quality and style. Employ graphic design skills to enhance video content and support digital marketing and other promotional efforts. Create visually appealing graphics that are cohesive with the narrative and promotional needs of GTN.
  • Collaborative Production: Collaborate with, and guide other team members, offering creative and technical insights. Work closely with directors, producers, and other creative personnel to align vision and execution. Lead or support creative meetings and contribute to script changes, story boards, production design, and character design as needed.
  • Apprenticeship Mentorship: Act as a mentor for apprentices, teaching and guiding them through editing projects, and leading by example to help them develop their storytelling and technical skills.
  • Expert Technical Skills: Master editing and graphic design tools to produce superior content. Utilize advanced techniques in video editing, color grading, sound design, and motion graphics to enhance the visual and auditory appeal of productions.
  • Project Management: Manage workflows and timelines using tools like Monday.com to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification. Maintain organized archives of all production materials.
  • Quality Control: Review all edits and productions to ensure they meet GTN's quality standards and are free from technical flaws.
  • Audience Engagement: Adapt content based on audience feedback and analytics to increase engagement and viewership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
