The worldwide Apple Retail Engagement & Marketing (REM) team defines, makes and delivers programs, campaigns, initiatives and experiences that help Apple Retail’s customers and teams discover, be inspired by, learn about and go further with Apple’s products and services, and does so in a manner that is true to our values. The Senior Manager of Communication Engagement will be a key leader for the team and our work. They will have the opportunity to drive global strategy, demonstrating communications expertise and deep understanding of team engagement strategies that drive behavior changes to positively impact customer and employee engagement.
Description
The Senior Manager is dedicated to the audience and customer — from behavioral insights to ways of connecting. They strive to enhance team members experiences, deepen belonging and connection and help drive employee engagement/relations in a way that is consumable and valuable for our teams. They craft the strategic approach, and influence outcomes, not just tactics. They are an expert at framing the problem and fueling teams to get to the solution. They synthesize large amounts of information into key insights that are compelling and cut through clutter with plans that put the right information, in the right place, at the right time, for the right person. This role will live at the intersection of our HR People teams, Employee Relations, Legal, Corporate Communications and PR as well as our Field Leadership ensuring stakeholders and our team members needs are kept in a balance. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Influencing executives across Apple to articulate the vision for Apple’s retail team members. - Developing and leading the engagement strategies with the clarity on what needs to be communicated to whom, when and how. - Leading the effort to up level our communications playbooks and approach, so we have the right programs, tactics and infrastructure to meet the wide-range of communication needs and wants of our team members -from career development, to benefits to the best ways to help our customers. - Leading and prioritizing the ongoing engagement strategies, including training to help team members deeply understand what it means to be part of Apple Retail and how they each have an impact on Apple and our customers.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience developing employee facing communications.
At least 5 years of experience leading and developing a team of individual contributors.
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Background in mobilizing people through advocacy, community engagement, journalism or politics.
Internal communications experience in developing content, employee sentiment strategies and programs, including daily, unplanned, crisis and operational communications.
Understanding of the United States labor markets.
Experience with thought-leadership around the models, infrastructure and management systems required for a modern communications operation.
Clearly understands the motivations of the Gen Z workforce and the vehicles to communicate successfully to this audience.
A demonstrated innovator in storytelling and messaging, with hand-on expertise as a creator of communications.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders on a global scale, including corporate communications/PR, Retail field leaders, creative/design teams, HR/People and legal teams.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $222,600 and $334,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
