Overview of the Cost Analyst role:
Establish standard costs and investigate discrepancies between standard and actual costs
Oversee the annual standard cost-roll process
Review, analyze, update, and validate standard costs, including bill of materials, with a deep understanding of labor and overhead
Assess standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Measure, monitor, and analyze cost reduction projects against expectations
Analyze material usage variances, purchase price variances, scrap, and inventory valuation discrepancies to support month-end closing activities
Resolve costing discrepancies and irregularities with bills of materials (BOMs)
Investigate cycle count variances and resolve inventory adjustments
Undertake special financial projects as needed
Cost Analyst Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Manufacturing industry experience, focusing on cost accounting, profitability analysis, and manufacturing cost reductions
In-depth understanding of manufacturing standard cost accounting and inventory valuation
JD Edwards and SAP is required
