Responsibilities:
Navigate and accurately apply sales tax regulations, ensuring prompt payment and compliance with state and local tax laws
Oversee the preparation and submission of sales tax returns to relevant authorities, meeting strict filing deadlines.
Collaborate in sales tax audits, furnishing responses to inquiries and providing vital documentation to support our tax positions.
Stay abreast of dynamic changes in sales tax regulations, translating and integrating these shifts into our operational framework.
Craft, refine, and maintain commission calculation processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in compensating sales representatives and agents.
Generate comprehensive commission reports for management and sales teams, delivering actionable insights and performance analyses.
Generate and dispatch invoices and statements promptly, upholding accuracy and compliance with payment terms.
Analyze and manage accounts receivable aging reports, identifying and addressing overdue accounts.
Reconcile accounts receivable transactions, including adjustments, refunds, and credits.
Actively contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Play a key role in assisting with budget preparation.
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and information requested by auditors.
Undertake other related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Demonstrated expertise with a minimum of 5 years in sales tax compliance, commission calculations, and accounts receivable accounting.
In-depth understanding of state and local sales tax regulations.
