The Role: The Director of Marketing will develop and execute on strategic marketing initiatives that reflect our mission and establish AquaTheon as the leading CPG brand focused on marine plants. This position will play a key role in shaping the strategy and success of our nascent product lines; and will require laser focus on execution through omni channel activation tactics. The role is highly cross-functional; collaborating with sales, operations, and innovation teams. This role reports directly to the CEO (who is also the interim Head of Brand) The Responsibilities: Strategic Development and Execution: Devise and own Aqua Theon’s marketing strategy across multiple marine plant-based business lines, retail and ecommerce channels. Seamlessly move from high-level strategy to tactics and ensure successful execution by team. Brand Management: Work closely with the Head of Brand and creative agency to develop and execute on cohesive brand identity across products and touch points. Retail/Trade Marketing: Partner with sales team to increase store count by generating brand awareness, driving trial and consumer adoption Partner with sales team to create and execute on account-specific plans that focus on increasing sales velocity via demos, promotions, merchandising, and loyalty programs Manage field marketing team for product seeding, events, and demos E-Commerce: Manage Digital Marketing Team and ensure successful integration of e-commerce strategy into broader marketing strategy and goals Performance Measurement : Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Leverage analytics to assess performance, deliver actionable insights, and drive continuous improvement. New Product Pipeline: Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights into consumer preferences, behaviors, competitive landscape, and unmet needs to further build out innovation pipeline P&L Management: Refine and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources to achieve optimal results and maximize ROI on marketing investments. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Set clear goals, provide constructive feedback, and support ongoing professional development. What You Bring: 7-10 years retail or brand marketing experience, preferably in CPG Proven track record of developing and executing successful omnichannel marketing campaigns Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, draw actionable insights, and convey in concise briefs to Head of Brand Past experience working with POS data (Spins, Nielsen, IRI) Experience managing budgets and/or familiarity with P&L statements Strong planning, organization, and project management skills Ability to take initiative, work autonomously, take feedback, and pivot – you thrive working in a fast-paced environment and creating order out of chaos Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and seniority levels What We Offer: Competitive salary Comprehensive health and wellness benefits Flexible working hours and remote work options Unlimited vacation Opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a passionate team
