Job Summary
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for providing key support for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. This position is located in the Jackson, MS corporate office.
Primary and Essential Functions
Implements and supports marketing initiatives and special projects including advertising, communications, media relations, public relations, and website materials.
Assists with the management of marketing plans, timelines, promotional recaps, creative briefs, project recommendations, and presentations.
Participates in regular strategy meetings and supports new programs and initiatives.
Assists with corporate communications including writing and editing monthly and quarterly newsletters, email blast to stakeholders
Responsible for producing promotional literature, and effectively articulating organization and program messages.
Supports operational, content, and research activities in the Marketing Customer Information File System (MCIF).
Provides support for public relations and communications opportunities and activities.
Reviews various marketing materials and makes recommended edits.
Assists field offices staff with marketing project requests.
Secondary Functions Performs general administrative duties such as attending meetings, report production, etc.
Plans and coordinates special events, maximizing sponsorship opportunities.
Keeps staff, management and appropriate partners informed of marketing and communications strategies and activities. Works with staff to gather appropriate input on campaign development
Assists with market research activities in order to keep abreast of changing financial, technological, and demographic factors, and to support product development and modification.
Supports special projects requiring special skills and knowledge such as signage, facilities management, logistical support, requests for information, promotional items, and advertising opportunities.

Bilingual (Spanish)
Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field.
Three to five years of experience in marketing with an understanding of financial institution/banking or non-profit industries
Experience with Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF) systems
Growth orientation
Exceptional knowledge of current marketing techniques and platforms
Track record of collaboration and working well within teams
