Overview:

Marketing Analyst will be responsible for performing transportation and supply chain market research of industries, regions, and customers. Accountable for developing and managing market based-pricing for intermodal transportation Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) provides to its customers. Responsible for performing commercial analysis such as competitor bench-marking, project evaluations, budgeting and forecasting, service schedules, and market share. Develops clear and compelling presentations for multiple stakeholders; internal users, customers, senior management, etc.



Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supply Chain & Transportation Market Research:
    • Creative, organized, structured, work by objectives.
    • Search for public or private sources of information in order to build a clear understanding of markets and customers trends, products, routes, competitors, in order to determine FEC current market share and go-to market strategies and tactics
    • In coordination with the AVP Commercial Analytics, establish a clear path of action to grow the companys market share as part of the full commercial strategy of the company
  • Transportation Pricing:
    • Develop knowledge of FEC active routings and services. Build FECs pricing levels based on financial, logistics trends, market price indices, competitor offerings and volume fundamentals.
    • Develop and furnish Intermodal pricing for current and prospective customers, working in close collaboration with FECs logistics consulting team.
    • Furnish FEC revenue requirements to Class 1s Railroads for joint-line prices.
    • Use costing programs to develop Intermodal costs for price development.
    • Publish and manage pricing contracts, quotations and tariffs.
    • Assist FECs Customer Service and Account Receivables teams with misroutes, diversions and routing questions.
  • Commercial Analysis:
    • Perform commercial analysis and prepare presentations on an accurate, timely and professional fashion


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from Four?year College or university in marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge of logistics industry and the competitive environments affecting intermodal, trucking, and rail preferred.

  • Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, and SAS
  • Ability to write query, data mine, and understanding of relational databases of internal and external data resources
  • Ability to reason data findings to uncover issues and develop solution
  • Strong time management skills
  • Self-motivated with a disposition toward critical/analytical thinking and process improvement.
  • Ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills. Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.
  • Must have proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written and present information to various audiences, including executives, customers and employees.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and flexibility as needed
  • Proven computer and analytical skills, especially MS Office, database and CRM software and dashboard applications

Work Environment

  • General office work environment at FECs new commercial offices at Port Everglades, Florida. Occasional customer office or job site visits. Some out-of-office travel required, that may require night or weekend accessibility
