Job Summary
The Resorts Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive occupancy, revenue growth, increase brand awareness and sentiment, and enhance the guest experience at Massanutten and Wilderness Presidential Resorts. The Director leads a team of marketing professionals and collaborates closely with other departments to create compelling campaigns that attract visitors, maximize occupancy rates, and customer lifetime value, and promote the resort's unique offerings.
Director actively participates in the overall leadership conversation. They offer direct contributions to resort-wide initiatives and programs, while continually improving the long-term position of the resort.
Qualifications
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and comprehensive plans that drive revenue growth, marketing attributed conversions, customer lifetime value, and positive brand sentiment.
Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing.
Experience with customer journey and marketing funnel optimization.
Direct experience building integrated marketing campaign plans and creative and media agency briefs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of channels.
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience organizing, managing, and motivating high-performing team to aligned, impactful products and achieve targeted results.
Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
Brand development experience and a creative mindset, with a passion for innovation and driving positive change.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
Knowledge of the hospitality industry, including trends, competitors, and customer preferences
Experience must include at least 7-10 years of progressive Marketing and Management experience with at least 3 years at the senior management level.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and processes to achieve occupancy and revenue targets and enhance the resort's market position.
Lead the creation of marketing, public relations, and media plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, targeted guest market segments and geographic regions, and ROI targets.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Effectively organize roles, functions, and duties to ensure that the division's work is being done effectively and consistently with proper resource allocation.
Responsible for seeking and managing corporate partnerships, negotiating agreements, and leveraging synergies to enhance the resort's brand visibility and revenue streams.
Oversee the resort's digital marketing efforts, including website management, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
Identify changes and challenges in the industry and understand what is needed from a tech, team, and partner perspective to stay ahead of it.
Monitor and analyze marketing metrics and KPIs to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-informed recommendations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Resort departments, industry associations, and local businesses.
Ensure brand consistency and adherence to brand standards across all marketing materials and communication channels for the entire Resort.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing and hospitality to maintain a competitive edge.
