Marketing Performance Specialist

Department: Marketing and Communications

FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt

Salary Level: 6

Position Summary:

The Marketing Performance Specialist is responsible for informing and optimizing marketing strategies and programs with data analysis and reporting. This position will develop the appropriate metrics and evaluate and validate data for marketing implementation and optimization. As a marketing performance specialist, they will summarize and aggregate marketing channel data and monitor industry and marketplace trends to produce reports that provide insight and guidance for continuous improvement of UHA’s market position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data Management, Reporting & Analysis:
    1. Works with the Director of Marketing & Communications to monitor and refine data reporting strategies to optimize marketing inititatives and programs
    2. Produces clear, concise reports that present the relevant context, findings and recommendations for continuous improvement and refinement of marketing strategies
    3. Analyzes customer journey/purchase funnel data, primary and secondary market research, competitive landscape, industry and marketplace trends
    4. Provides oversight on performance metrics for digital (website, SEO/SEM, social media, search, email), traditional media (advertising and direct marketing) and events or community outreach
    5. Manages the marketing database and coordinates email campaigns
    6. Oversees digital vendors
  • Customer Experience Enhancement (Cx)
    1. Works with the Senior Marketing Specialist to facilitate UHAʻs Voice of Constituent program
    2. Assists with design of website user experience (UX) for continuous improvement and enhancement
  • Marketing Technology Optimization (MarTech)
    1. Integrates, manages and optimizes marketing platforms and systems (Salesforce/ SF Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, Mailchimp, Qualtrics)
    2. Trains marketing team and other UHA staff on MarTech applications
  • Demand Generation & Product Marketing Support
    1. As a lead member of marketing’s demand gen team, the marketing performance specialist supports the team to plan and execute digital campaigns and works with stakeholder departments and digital vendor(s) to monitor and report the outcomes of executed multi-channel demand gen campaigns, both for “always-on” and seasonal initiatives
    2. As a member of the product marketing team, this position will help monitor the competitive landscape and continually assess the mix and performance of UHA’s product portfolio to form improvement recommendations and identify market shifts or opportunities that can directly impact UHA’s position in the marketplace
    3. Reports findings and insights regularly to marketing and sales leadership.
  • Other
    1. Participates in company sponsored events and activities, providing support as needed
    2. Assists in other marketing areas as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
  • At least 4 years’ experience managing and/or directing data analytics and reporting in a marketing organization or a marketing-related capacity with a solid track record of applied knowledge in marketing data analytics and reporting
  • Experience with marketing automation tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, and Hootsuite
  • Experience with Google Data Studio
  • Knowledge of digital marketing metrics and best practices related to SEO, Google Analytics and paid search
  • Experience leading, training and educating team members and vendors in data analysis and reporting
  • Experience developing project plans, timeline, budgets and comprehensive reports
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred and Advanced Qualifications:

  • Marketing experience in health insurance or healthcare industry
  • Experience in an inhouse marketing department or corporate environment serving in a consultative role or holding team lead responsibilities
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with website content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress
  • Experience with market research tools, methodology and reporting and with survey or experience management platforms like Qualtrics
  • Experience with Adobe Cloud products
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience in direct/targeted B2B marketing

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance in accordance with UHA required minimums (see Use Of Personal Or Rental Vehicles And Mileage Reimbursement Policy number A-012 in the UHA Policy and Procedure Manual).
  • Must have access to an automobile and be able to travel in automobile.
