Job DescriptionThe Director of Media will lead the strategy and development of paid media campaigns to drive awareness and intent for Universal’s Home Entertainment film and TV releases. This includes managing campaigns across new releases, catalog titles, and partner content.
The Director will oversee external agencies, collaborate with internal and cross-divisional teams, and manage department resources, including outside partners and publishers.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong time management and interpersonal skills. They should have a deep understanding of the advertising landscape, particularly as it relates to movies, television, streaming, and the convergence of entertainment and technology.
Key responsibilities include developing measurement frameworks to track campaign progress and success, creating cross-channel strategies to meet objectives, and ensuring seamless execution, optimization, and analysis. The Director will also supervise a manager and agency team, guiding their development and driving the successful execution of campaigns. Additionally, the role involves evolving media planning and buying across a multi-channel, through a data-driven approach.
Responsibilities:
- Lead media strategy for home entertainment releases, leveraging consumer insights, market trends, and key film-specific factors.
- Oversee end-to-end media campaign launches, taking full ownership of campaign execution. Develop media plans, targeting strategies, and collaborate on creative to ensure optimal cross-channel execution, all within budget and timeline.
- Collaborate closely with the Brand Marketing team to align media efforts with target audiences, driving maximum business impact.
- Establish robust testing and reporting frameworks to measure campaign performance against KPIs, utilizing analytics tools for brand lift, traffic, sales, and ROAS reporting.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to interpret data and support decision-making with actionable insights.
- Collaborate across planning, social/content, technology, creative, and performance media teams to drive informed strategy through insights and learnings.
- Lead planning, activation, and reporting processes, continuously identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement. Develop media mix, and detailed targeting for each platform, and lead creative conversations for best executions across channels.
- Address queries related to media channels, KPIs, metrics, and performance with strong rational.
- Oversee daily campaign workflows, including strategy development, ad operations, activation, optimization, and reporting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring optimal campaign performance as the group lead.
- Assist in establishing best practices to enhance team communication and collaboration.
Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in media with strong expertise in digital strategy, planning, programmatic, and social platforms (e.g., Meta, AdWords, Amazon).

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
