Job Description
Associate Media Planners will grow personally and professionally through exposure to colleagues, clients, and projects that support a broad range of initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying media opportunities that are suited to advertise client brands, products, services or issues. Working closely with the paid media team, the associate media planner uses research tools to develop strategically sound recommendations that maximize the impact of advertising campaigns across various media platforms, including digital, broadcast and out-of-home channels. A strong interest in paid media, an analytical mindset and strong written and oral communication skills are keys to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Work on several projects simultaneously, often for several different clients/campaigns.
- Compile relevant audience research to inform client-paid media plans.
- Draft recommendations for paid media placements.
- Act as a point of contact for media partners.
- Develop a thorough understanding of creative requirements for paid media placements.
- Secure creative asset specs from media partners and share them with project management and creative times.
- Provide creative instructions and assets to project management and creative team.
- Coordinate with creative, project management, and client services teams to fulfill media assets and traffic to Ad Ops for delivery to media partners.
- Compile measurement and KPI tracking reports for campaigns, as appropriate.
- Coordinate with the paid media team tracking for reporting and pacing.
- Learn and accurately use digital tools leveraged by the paid media department, including Strata (Flywheel).
- 1+ years of experience (including internships) and a bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong research skills and demonstrated resourcefulness
- Works well in a team
- Highly organized, ability to prioritize work assignments, strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Familiarity with social media platforms and the ability to learn new digital tools quickly
- Ability to be flexible and adapt/respond to requests?as they arise
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Expanded knowledge and experience with other Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Teams, is a plus.
