Job Summary/Description:

A Rare Opportunity...We are searching for a Chief Photographer to lead a talented team in a creative and innovative newsroom.

This is a working chief position where you can share your expertise in photojournalism and also have time for mentoring and managerial duties. We want someone with a creative eye, technical expertise, and proven leadership. You'll also need to understand the importance of visual composition, natural sound, and quality lighting. You will oversee our photojournalists and editors and work with newsroom managers to help grow our multimedia journalists. You will play an important role in the circle of news managers creating best practices and training to always be leading the market. In addition to shooting and editing news stories, our chief will manage our gear and other operational duties.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in journalism and/or communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* Proven experience as a digital video storyteller with strong camera and editing skills
* Experience with Edius and field gear preferred and excellence in lighting
* Drone pilot is a plus
* Proven ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
* Must be energetic, positive, and a great team builder and leader
* Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
