Position Summary:
As the Director of Social & Environmental Impact at Elle Communications, you will spearhead strategic initiatives for clients dedicated to driving societal and environmental change. Your focus will encompass key areas such as racial justice, workers' rights, poverty alleviation, climate change, and civic engagement. Working closely with our senior leadership team, you will develop communication strategies that elevate influential voices and organizations making a tangible difference.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Develop PR strategy: Develop and implement an effective and creative PR strategy for each client under your oversight. Provide regular progress reports to the CEO and President on the impact of the strategy.
Manage client relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to exceed their expectations and foster long-term partnerships. Collaborate with clients to understand their organizational priorities and ensure their goals are met with attention to detail.
Manage team members: Oversee the management of team members by providing them with regular performance feedback, coaching, and career development support so they can achieve their goals and meet the expectations of their role. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert and work with other leaders on project management and strategic workforce planning.
Guide and support teams: Ensure the success of project teams by providing guidance and support, and working closely with Elle's agency leadership to identify growth opportunities. Coach and support Associate Directors on client management, projects, and KPI delivery.
Secure top-tier coverage: Bring in select top-tier coverage to meet critical client business and communicate goals.
Lead project management: Oversee project management for all your projects to meet the agency's timelines and goals.
Support business development: Collaborate with the President and CEO to identify new growth opportunities and develop proposals for prospective clients.
Contribute to thought leadership: Provide thought leadership and industry insights to the agency’s leadership team and clients.

Project Resourcing: You allocate time, resources, and attention appropriately to each project. You understand the bandwidth of your team members and you’re able to ensure your projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Growth Mindset: You know your personal strengths and limitations and are aware of their impact on others. You model a growth mindset proactively by seeking feedback and identifying areas for your own growth.
Qualifications
- (REQUIRED) Proven leadership experience within a PR agency
- (Preferred) Experience working with nonprofit and philanthropic clients
- (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- (Preferred) 8-10 years of experience in PR strategy, with a proven track record of success in managing complex PR initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex PR concepts to clients and internal teams.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a focus on delivering results.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Based in or near LA or NYC office
