Role Overview:
Remote Legal is seeking Stenographic Court Reporters to join our team of highly skilled reporters. As a court reporter, you will provide professional reporting services to our clients, including taking live testimony in legal proceedings and producing an accurate verbatim transcript on time.
Our Court Reporters are the face of our company, we are looking for motivated, decisive, energetic, tech-savvy individuals who can work autonomously and aspire to be at the forefront of advancements in the court reporting industry.
This is What You'll Do:
- Administer oaths to the witnesses
- Interact with our clients, providing excellent customer service as well as assistance with technology issues
- Stenographically report legal proceedings via CAT software
- Manage exhibit markings and exhibit retainage as needed
- Prepare accurate verbatim transcripts on time
This is What We're Looking for:
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Professional demeanor, can-do attitude, quick wit, and ability to resolve issues independently
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn how to troubleshoot new technologies and communicate them to others
- Tech-savvy with the ability to manage reporter’s CAT software and host remote depositions on a variety of remote deposition platforms
- Organized and efficient, leading to completing assigned work within specifically set timelines
- Exceptional grammar and punctuation skills are necessary.
Good to have:
- NCRA member preferred
- RPR, RMR, CRR, and NYCRC, are encouraged but not required
- Previous videoconference room experience, such as Zoom, Webex, etc., preferred.
Qualifications:
- Degree or certification from a court reporting school writing 210 - 225 wpm
- Notary Public in the state of residence and ability to obtain further notary commissions as needed by the company
