Job Description
Responsible for creating, editing, and managing comprehensive documentation that serves as an essential resource throughout project development and implementation lifecycles, including but not limited to: client project proposals, Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, operations and maintenance manuals, and technical training material. May also assist with developing a variety of documents including process and policy documentation, creating templates for internal company use, forms for customer use, release notes, online help, and similar documents. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts, ability to analyze and organize information into clear, user-friendly documentation, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write, edit, and format proposal documents, including executive summaries, technical sections, and supporting materials.
- Thoroughly review and analyze RFPs to understand client requirements and ensure compliance.
- Create and maintain requirements matrices to track and ensure all RFP requirements are addressed in the proposal.
- Develop detailed technical documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), operations and maintenance manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Write, edit, and format training manuals, guides, and e-learning content.
- Analyze and document processes, develop forms and templates.
- Conduct thorough research to gather relevant information and data to support documentation development.
- Work closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather input and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Ensure that all documentation meets client requirements, industry standards, and company guidelines.
- Review and revise documentation for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to incorporate visuals, charts, and diagrams that enhance documentation impact.
- Manage documentation library with timeliness and accuracy, maintaining effective organization and version control.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in technical writing and incorporate them into the development process.
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Communications, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role.
Other Requirements:
- Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to convey them clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro required, expert level preferred in Microsoft Word. Proficiency in additional documentation and e-learning tools a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
