Jobleads-US, New York, NY, United States
Job Reference # 301245BR

Job Type Full Time
Your role
Are you an analytical and creative designer who can grasp user needs and solve problems? Are you interested in driving innovation and delivering a market-leading user experience across a variety of enterprise functions for employees, candidates, and clients? Are you able to transform an existing experience through the introduction of empathy and user-centered design methodology?
At UBS, we re-imagine the way we work, the way we connect with each other – our colleagues, clients, and partners – and the way we deliver value.
We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer (UX/UI) in the UX Design Center of Excellence to:
- strategize, sketch, and design new products and features across multiple product teams
- plan and facilitate ideation workshops and conduct usability testing to align the product vision and fully understand user needs
- translate user requirements and research into tangible design concepts to bring a product concept to life quickly via persona creation, journey mapping, storyboarding, and other user-centered design thinking methods
- feel equally comfortable sketching and wireframing design solutions as you are making UI and data visualizations beautiful and compelling
- be an advocate for our design system and help develop scalable patterns and components that follow universal design principles for accessibility best practices
- work closely with cross-functional agile team members to iteratively improve digital products and experiences
- provide mentorship and coaching to other designers on our team, as well as being a strong evangelist for the business value of design across Group Functions at UBS
Your team
In our agile operating model, the Design Center of Excellence sits within our technology area providing solutions for Human Resources and Corporate Services. You will work alongside product managers and engineers to lead the user experience design of our products. You’ll be using Figma and Miro to work in a hybrid model, pairing with team members locally and globally.
Diversity helps us grow, together. That’s why we are committed to fostering and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. It strengthens our business and brings value to our clients.
Your expertise
- ideally 10 years’ experience designing user-centered products and complex applications, ideally in corporate functions (HR, Talent, Reward, Operations, Employee-facing Platforms, etc.)
- an awe-inspiring portfolio that demonstrates your design process and your ability to set an example to those around you
- demonstrable strategic thinking and a thorough understanding of the product design process, from research to design to implementation
- a good understanding of agile methodologies and integrating design with cross-functional delivery teams
- an obsessive attention-to-detail in everything you do, from storytelling and clarity of communication through to detailed wireframes and UI designs
- extensive experience using Figma, some experience using Miro, and a solid understanding of underlying technologies from collaborating with engineering teams
- exceptional organizational skills and a passion for mentoring and leading other designers
