Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of the Frontline Technology Strategy User Experience (UX) team, you’ll be responsible for making sure that all our employee-facing software applications are universally accessible. You’ll work closely with the Content Writers, Visual Designers and UX Researchers on the team to make sure our software meet digital accessibility standards while providing the best banking experience for our frontline workers and our clients. You’ll make recommendations for design, content and code that aligns with inclusive design standards so that any employee using assisitive technologies can use our customer servicing tools. You’ll provide high-level consultations and training for our partner teams to meet high standards of client and employee satisfaction.
How You’ll Succeed
· You’re an Accessibility Champion: You’ll help create an inclusive environment by making our stakeholders, development partners, executives and designers understand the need to consider accessibility with every design decision.
· You’re client focused: You have the desire to be first in class from an accessibility perspective so that all our employees can use the tools we provide to help our clients make their ambition a reality. You audit our employee-facing applications to comply with international digital accessibility standards and make recommendations
· You communicate with confidence: You use your powers of communication and consultation to speak about accessibility guidelines with authority. Your solid interpersonal skills are a must for collaborating with diverse stakeholders, product owners and internal pod members. You’ll support and lead activities that focus on articulating the value of inclusive design to our internal partners.
· You‘re an Assistive Technology expert: You’ll use various assistive technologies such as screen readers, text scaler and dictation software to test the usability of our internal applications. You can conduct an accessibility audit for WCAG compliance.
· You can research and present findings: You’ll actively participate in user research and use the results to make accessibility recommendations. You’ll present cases for change in a compelling manner to stakeholders.
· You demonstrate leadership: You’ll coach and mentor junior members of the team.
Who You Are
· You can demonstrate expert knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1+), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Accessible Canada Act. You can demonstrate practical knowledge of guidelines and techniques so that accessibility principles can translate to design, content and coding decisions.
· You have a degree/diploma in digital design, inclusive design or equivalent
