Summary/Objective:
The Material Expeditor Assistant will support the production team by overseeing parts and materials management within the organization. This role involves monitoring order statuses, physically identifying parts in the facility, and coordinating with customers through both phone and written communication. The position is ideal for individuals eager to learn about purchasing processes and operations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
The core duties and responsibilities of a Material Expeditor Assistant is a key contributor responsible for supporting Production Teams within the company. Some of the daily responsibilities include: Place purchase orders Track and update the status of parts and orders Work Closely with multiple departments to advise of any issues or delays in the delivery process that may affect production. Maintain accurate records of all inbound material and RMA's and will update the inventory management system. Order supplies for shop - 1 or 2 orders per month. Perform other duties, as assigned by Purchasing Management Team only. * Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education / Experience Required:
Must be 18 years old. Multi-tasking and prioritizing time-sensitive requests. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ease/familiarity with other cloud-based business system. Preferred:
A plus, previous experience in a ship repair environment. Work Environment
This job operates in an office work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that requires 40+ hours of work per week. M-F 0600 - 1430 (or as otherwise assigned by Purchasing Manager / General Manager) with pre-scheduled overtime as needed.
Travel
This position does not require the ability to travel.

The physical demands for this position are light to moderate. This position requires sitting for extensive periods of time.
