This position will support the success of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival as a key member of the scenic department, collaborating with the Technical Director on builds, changeovers, and maintenance through the season. The 2025 CSF season begins in May 2025 and responsibilities for this position will continue through August 2025. The ATD will potentially have remote work in March / April 2025 depending on need and availability. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Work in collaboration with the CSF Technical Director on two-show repertory season as well as one original practices production with two performances including scene shop operations, planning, build, load-in, repertory changeovers, and maintenance of scenery / props throughout the season. Create scenic shop drawings under the guidance of the CSF Technical Director. Consult with the CSF Technical Director on supervising build, installation, rigging, and strike of sets, safety training and oversight, and the maintenance of shop and its equipment. Direct and instruct production crew and interns on theatrical skills and best practices. Perform skilled carpentry work using a variety of materials related to the construction of theatrical scenery as needed. Lead changeovers and run crew, and perform routine maintenance to shows running in rep. Supervise strike and load-out at the completion of the season. Monitor team safety, morale, and quality control and communicate regularly with the CSF Production Manager to strategize solutions and ensure that build operations are properly resourced. Adhere to the policies set forth in the CSF Standard Access and Locking Procedures. Assist as needed across departmental lines as designated by the CSF Production Manager. This position reports directly to the Technical Director. What We Require At least one year of related experience demonstrating the required skill sets is required for all positions. Appropriate education will substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. A valid driver's license is required for these positions.
