Salary Range: $ 47,000 - $51,700 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

The Ent Center for the Arts (ECFA) Audio Engineer manages audio production across the center’s multiple venues and serves as the lead engineer for select events. This role supports the ECFA Production Manager by coordinating personnel and equipment, maintaining audio systems, and ensuring high-quality sound for performances and events. Acting as a key liaison, the Audio Engineer
collaborates with artists, touring technicians, event clients, contractors, faculty, and staff to meet production needs. Additionally, this position provides training for production personnel, upholds workplace safety, and oversees emergency response protocols. Their expertise ensures the seamless execution of events and the long-term care of audio equipment.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee Audio and Video Production for Events – Lead all aspects of live audio and video production, ensuring high-quality sound and visual experiences for performances, academic events, and external rentals.
- Manage and Supervise Production Crew – Direct and oversee production staff in the setup,operation, and breakdown of audio and video equipment while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain and Troubleshoot AV Systems – Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on venue-wide AV systems, including performance halls, classrooms, and the recording studio.
- Provide Technical Expertise to Clients – Advise faculty, staff, artists, and touring productions on AV capabilities, ensuring technical needs align with venue resources and artistic goals
- Assess Technical Needs, Budgets, and Feasibility – Assist in evaluating event technical riders, determining feasibility, sourcing equipment, and managing budget requirements for performances and rentals.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance – Enforce safety guidelines, conduct risk assessments, and implement emergency procedures to ensure a secure and compliant production environment.
- Support VAPA Recording Studio– Advise and collaborate with the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) department on best practices for studio equipment setup and sound recording.
- Collaborate on Long-Term Technical Planning – Work with leadership to research, recommend, and implement AV technology improvements that enhance the Ent Center’s production capabilities.

- To be considered for this role, you must have professional experience in sound engineering or live production mixing, including proficiency with large-format audio mixers and a strong working knowledge of both digital and analog audio interfaces.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in audiovisual equipment operation, support, and troubleshooting.
- A highly qualified candidate will have experience supervising production crews.
- Expertise with Yamaha CL5 and CL3 consoles is highly desirable.
- Experience with QLab is preferred.
- Familiarity with Creston A/V systems and programming is preferred.
- Dante Level 3 certification is a plus.
