Position Overview Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Corporate Controller will oversee and enhance the accuracy of consolidated financial reporting, ensure compliance with SEC, SOX, and GAAP standards, and lead a team of five. This individual will be instrumental in managing the financial close process, SEC reporting, and supporting the company's growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Coordinate the preparation and filing of SEC reports (10-Q, 10-K) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Mentor, train, and manage the accounting team, including 5 direct reports.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, quarterly reviews, and SOX testing.
Review and prepare corporate consolidations, eliminations, and quarterly/annual filings.
Partner with leadership to support financial analysis, special projects, and ad hoc reporting needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA certification preferred (or equivalent public accounting experience).
Minimum of 3-5 years of SEC reporting/compliance experience.
Experience in manufacturing or manufacturing audits preferred.
Proficiency in ERP systems (QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong knowledge of SOX controls and GAAP compliance.
Preferred Personality Traits:
Nimble and quick on their feet, with strong upward management skills.
Effective communicator who can interface with C-suite executives and diverse teams.
Highly organized and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment and Expectations:
Full-time, 40-hour workweek with minimal overtime expected (outside of quarter/year-end deadlines).
Work-life balance is valued, with flexibility to travel locally.
