Job Title: Controller

Location: Southern Ohio Salary: $120,000 to $150,000 depending on experience Fully in office Position Summary: The Controller will lead financial operations across multiple manufacturing locations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost management, and compliance with corporate standards. This role is critical for driving financial performance, analyzing cost structures, and providing strategic guidance to plant leadership teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, plant operations, and multi-site financial management within the manufacturing industry. Key Responsibilities: - Financial Reporting & Analysis - Oversee all aspects of financial reporting for multiple manufacturing plants, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reporting in accordance with corporate and regulatory standards. - Provide in-depth analysis of financial statements, focusing on cost drivers, variances, and areas for improvement to optimize profitability. - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, forecasts, and reports in collaboration with plant management teams and corporate finance. - Cost Management & Optimization - Lead plant-level cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation. - Analyze production costs, material usage, labor efficiency, and overhead rates to identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency. - Partner with operations teams to develop and monitor cost-saving initiatives, such as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects. - Internal Controls & Compliance - Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies and procedures across all sites, implementing and monitoring robust internal controls. - Coordinate audits (internal and external), manage risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to mitigate financial risks. - Promote compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or other relevant regulations as applicable. - Leadership & Collaboration - Act as a key financial partner for plant managers and operations leaders, translating financial insights into operational action plans. - Lead and mentor site finance teams, providing coaching and development to build financial acumen and analytical skills. - Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among site teams to ensure alignment with corporate goals and adherence to budgetary controls. - Strategic Planning & Support - Contribute to long-term strategic planning by identifying and analyzing trends in cost structures, pricing, and market factors that impact plant performance. - Support M&A activities and plant expansions, providing financial due diligence, modeling, and integration support as needed. - Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting systems across sites to enhance visibility, accuracy, and timeliness of financial data. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred. - Experience: - 7-10 years of experience in finance, with at least 3-5 years in a manufacturing plant environment. - Proven experience managing financial operations across multiple sites. - Strong background in cost accounting and operational finance within a manufacturing setting. - Technical Skills: - Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. - Familiarity with financial reporting tools and business intelligence software.
