CFS of New York is teaming up with a well-regarded nonprofit focusing on being the leading provider of education, employment, and community support services for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities and their families in New York City.
They're seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance department. The team is very collegial staff have been with the company for many years. They are looking for someone who is eager to grow their career in the nonprofit sector and who feels a kinship to their mission statement. Position will offer opportunity for growth into Accounting Manager
The Firm is located in Midtown, NYC and for the foreseeable future will be working on a hybrid model. This company cares about their employees and their commitments outside of work

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:
Supervise Accounts Receivable/Billing
Monthly upload and analysis of the payroll information including analysis of all payroll related balance sheet accounts and fringe allocations
Conduct standard month end closing procedures
Preparation and distribution of daily cash report
Timely completion of bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
Assist Controller with annual audits and maintenance of ERP system (Currently using Sage/Intacct)
Work with Development and Training department to properly record monthly donations and training revenues
Assist with special projects as needed.
Experience preferred:
4+ years of relevant accounting experience with a nonprofit
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Exposure to various grants and funding such as OPWDD is a plus
Strong Excel skill; experience using accounting systems such as Intacct, MIP, Financial Edge is a plus
Should be able to present, interpret and effectively communicate financial data
