CFS NY's client is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing primary care to improve health outcomes and health equity. Through investment, technical assistance, and advocacy, they strengthen health care providers and promotes access to quality primary care services in underserved communities. Position Overview: They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is critical to supporting the organization's financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies. The Staff Accountant will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the organization's mission-driven activities. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and process journal entries, including payroll, revenue recognition, and expense allocations. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts monthly. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Support grant management and reporting by tracking restricted funds and preparing grant-related financial reports. Assist in annual audits, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Maintain accurate records for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including timely processing of invoices and payments. Monitor organizational budgets and assist with forecasting and variance analysis. Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and ensure compliance with GAAP. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit organizations. Proficiency in accounting software (MIP - Abila) and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including fund accounting and grant reporting, is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
