Director of Accounting

to lead and elevate our client's financial operations. This high-level role involves overseeing accounting processes, driving compliance, and providing strategic insights to support business growth. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a strong technical accounting background and a passion for building efficient, scalable financial systems.

Compensation:

$130,000 - $160,000/year, plus annual bonuses. Location:

Berlin, CT (Hybrid flexibility available).

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Accounting:

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, leading efforts for accurate financial reporting.

Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance operational efficiency.

Provide leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic goals.

Prepare and present financial statements and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA highly preferred).

8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.

Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance standards.

Experience in leading process improvements and scaling financial operations in growing organizations.
