Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the company, with a primary focus on managing the Accounts Payable (AP) function, maintaining the general ledger, and overseeing treasury functions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in AP management, general accounting principles, and treasury operations to ensure the company's financial health and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Management (50%):
Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including reviewing, coding, and posting invoices.
Manage the AP team and ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to AP, including vendor inquiries.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulations in the AP function.
Perform regular audits and reconciliations of AP balances, including monitoring aging reports.
Collaborate with procurement and other departments to improve AP processes and efficiency.
Implement and maintain AP systems to support the growth of the business.
Prepare and maintain accurate AP reports for internal and external stakeholders.
General Ledger (30%):
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
Prepare and post journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
Review financial reports and provide detailed analysis of variances.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and support external audits.
Collaborate with other departments to gather data necessary for accurate reporting.
Develop and implement process improvements to streamline general ledger functions.
Treasury (20%):
Manage the company's cash flow by monitoring daily cash balances and forecasting short-term and long-term liquidity needs.
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure proper documentation of cash transactions.
Assist in the management of banking relationships and coordinate with banks for treasury services.
Support the implementation of treasury policies and procedures to safeguard the company's assets.
Perform regular reviews of the company's investment and borrowing strategies to optimize returns and minimize risk.
Ensure accurate reporting of cash flow and treasury activities in financial reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CMA certification preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting with a focus on Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Treasury.
Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Experience in managing or supervising an accounting team.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
