NACA has more than three million members nationwide and is well positioned to effectively utilize video/photo/audio/graphic production in support of its mission of fighting for economic justice. Media content creation is crucial to increase NACA’s presence, improve NACA’s online reputation, encourage participation in NACA campaigns, and increase participation in community organizing. With an already strong demand for NACA’s programs, media content coordination is a crucial part of the overall marketing strategy while also working and following up with individuals, discussion groups and conversations from those connections.
The Multi-Media Specialist needs to be passionate about shooting videos, taking pictures, and using text and graphics to create compelling content to get the public and NACA Members excited about our programs and services. S/he needs to be a driven, creative individual with extensive experience and passion for creating compelling content and cultivating a wide audience through traditional ways and other social media platforms. This individual will be influential in both developing and utilizing social media and marketing assets to help engage NACA membership and shape the image of the organization. The individual will highlight and publicize the good work NACA does, while at the same time making sure the best possible customer service and information is provided to low- and moderate-income and minority participants.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
An advocate for the company in all media spaces.
Raise awareness of NACA and its mission by developing, organizing, and publishing engaging content across all media channels, including both written communication and photo/video.
Collaborate with NACA leadership to develop and execute media creation that enhances NACA’s online presence and advances its mission of homeownership advocacy, economic justice and building strong and stable neighborhoods and communities.
Media content creation and management.
Create, edit and upload video and photo daily testimonials of NACA Members closing on their home in the NACA office as well as such testimonials in and about their homes.
Set up, test, and re-pack all audio and video equipment during events or podcasts.
Troubleshoot any technical issues.
Organize media files, catalogue, upload and archive media files.
Be accessible for pre-production, production, post-production meetings.
Provide additional support when needed.
Work with technical staff to satisfy production needs for live or taped production under supervision of Creative Director.
Assist in maintaining all studio cameras as well as the movement of all set pieces and props for the various shows.
Create and offer visually interesting and varied subject shots.
Capture and process still photograph images until you achieve desired results.
Create poses that don’t look posed, but are organic, warm, happy and inspirational.
Constantly improve image quality using various camera tools & editing methods.
Use and maintain modern and traditional technical equipment (cameras, lenses, etc.)
Arrange objects, scenes, lighting and background to improve creative visual imagery.
Insert graphics, audio, and other elements as required for video editing.
Create daily and weekly videos by editing together the various video shots into one cohesive video, with transitions, titles, music tracks, graphics and balanced sound levels.
Create videos/photos for all marketing and promotional purposes.
Create applicable media content that reaches NACA’s target customers and audience.
Develop, enhance and manage all media content (images, video, audio and written).
Follow direction/vision in a positive manner and work as a team player.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
DEMANDS:
The Multi-Media Specialist must be able to meet the demands of the job that consists of 50+ hours a week. This is a demanding position requiring dedication and the willingness and ability to work long hours including evenings and weekends during events across the US and in our future Boston TV studio. Significant travel is required on a regular basis including on weekends for NACA events and other activities.
Physical strength to lift and move heavy equipment and stamina up to 40 lbs.
Be flexible and adjust to last-minute changes/plans.
Be responsible including on-time and productive work time.
COMPENSATION:
This is an exempt position with an annual salary of $65,000 to $80,000 based on experience, skills, degrees and certifications. The candidate’s performance evaluation and future compensation is largely based on meeting the Job Responsibilities, Competencies and Skills stated herein.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Communications) or equivalent work experience is required.
Educational background in marketing, communications, business, new media or public relations – Preferred.
Training and certifications that demonstrate important knowledge and credentials – Preferred.
SKILLS:
Ability to understand and follow camera scripts.
Ability to proficiently operate Jib Cameras.
Proficient in editing video, audio and photos.
Understand flash photography for indoor and outdoor events.
Ability to think on grand scales and outside the box.
Ability to think and act quickly.
A team player.
Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format.
It is a plus if he/she can write and speak languages other than English, particularly Spanish.
EXPERIENCE:
Significant experience in many of the following areas: developing, producing, and editing media content including photo/video/audio/graphics.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in live, multi-camera studio production preferred, with related video camera operator experience is required.
Hand-held camera experience preferred as dictated by production demands.
Experience in working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Experience as camera operator and photographer and video/photo editor.
